How is T-Tape Separate Ore used?
T-Tape Separate Ore is used in hydrometallurgical
mining. In other words,
T-Tape is used in Heap Leach Mining, where large amounts of "low
grade" ore is broken and moved from the ground onto a large stack.
Then T-Tape is spread across the heap and used to distribute very
specific amounts of sulfuric acid or dilute cyanide solutions to
the ore, to extract minerals.
What application does it have?
T-Tape can be applied on any heap leach operation
to help cut costs and increase recoveries.
What minerals are commonly leached with
the use of
T- Tape?
T-Tape Separate Ore is most commonly used at copper
mines, gold mines, silver mines and uranium mines.
Is T-Tape bulky to ship like drip hoses?
We can ship 460 reels of T-Tape (1.38 million ft)
in a 20 foot shipping container and 640 reels (1.92 million ft)
in a 40 foot shipping container. This is nearly 3 times as much
as drip hoses.
Is T-Tape difficult to install?
No, because of the way T-Tape is put on the disposable
reels, T-Tape is much easier to install than drip hose. One of our
customers reported a 50%
reduction in installation costs both in time and manpower requirements.
Do T-Tape emitters perform as well as others?
T-Tape is equipped with the best emitter in the industry!
T-Tape emitters are shown in mine test after mine test to outperform
our competitors emitter products throughout the world.
Do I need extensive filtration to switch
to T-Tape?
We recommend that you have at least 150 mesh (100micron)
filtration. The extensive inlet area on T-Tape emitters gives our
customers a definite advantage over using our competitor's products.
Most of our customers have found that whatever filtration they have
in place is adequate enough that T-Tape gives them better performance
than any previous product.
Does T-Tape plug off from scaling at the
outlet like hard hose?
The T-Tape emitter is manufactured with a large "Dual
Flow Positive Directional Flow Outlet". This eliminates most of
the problems with scale plugging because of the overall size and
"cleaning action" of the outlet area.
Is T-Tape better than sprinklers in hot/dry
climates?
T-Tape can help reduce evaporation and increase solution
distribution over sprinkler applications.
As my heap gets higher and larger, I have
difficulty getting enough solution to the farthest end. Can T-Tape
help?
T-Tape is designed to operate at 12 to 15 PSI, which
reduces pumping costs, but will function very well at 5 to 6 PSI.
This allows many of our customers to get solution across the whole
heap.
Can we make 500' single feed runs across
our very large dumps?
With Separate Ore 700 series, it is very common to
run 500' or even 600' depending on flow requirements.
